Determining the precise number of cards is essential at every stage of the production process of plastic cards. Existing counting technology can handle most cards – but not all of them. Whenever today’s technology reaches its limit, time-consuming and errorprone manual recounts are necessary to ensure accuracy. Enter Goldfinger – BÖWE SYSTEC’s new card counting system with its patented counting technology. Using a new micro-imaging reading head technology with four different light sources, Goldfinger enables accurate differentiation from card to card and accurate counts of different plastic card types. Extensive programming operations are not necessary. This results in increased integrity in the manufacturing process as well as in increased workflow efficiency.

Goldfinger is used wherever high integrity is required. Cards can now be counted automatically with BÖWE SYSTEC’s patented camera technology. A total of four different light sources, each reflecting differently on the surface of the card deck, accurately identify the transition from card to card. Highly reflective, light absorbing, transparent, burr-free as well as common cards can all be accurately counted.

World class reading technology

Optical specifications of cards may vary, so that one technology alone cannot  guarantee highest integrity. Therefore, the Goldfinger’s patented reading head does not rely on a single existing technology, it uses four to ensure that all cards are accurately counted. High-quality, intelligent topSenso camera with its micro-imaging reading head technology can be used to count a stack of up to 510 cards. Image output will be conducted via an interface for archiving.

No risk of mixing up box and contents

The system is equipped with a 1D-barcode scanner to read the barcode labels on the card boxes and to ensure maximum security; it transfers all recorded data together with information on the card type and counting results to the control level via an Ethernet interface. A new label showing the same box code and the updated number of cards can be printed on a separate printer and then be affixed to the box.

The exact result in a matter of seconds

As a compact tabletop unit, Goldfinger seamlessly integrates with any workplace, wherever necessary. The intuitive handling makes Goldfinger ready for immediate use with a simple, quiet and fluid workflow. Counting is activated by simply swiping a hand over a sensor and after just a few seconds the camera’s display shows the exact number of cards. Various card boxes can be used – even small amounts of cards are counted quickly and accurately, with or without box. Goldfinger truly counts all types of mixed or unmixed cards within seconds instead of using a mathematical interpolation process. The status of Goldfinger is indicated via LED lighting.
